UT-King FTTH One-Stop Sloution
What is FTTH?
UT-King Fiber To The Home (FTTH) technology involves deploying fiber-optic networks to the subscriber’s home.
Today, it is vital to provide very high-speed infrastructures (> 30 Mbit/s) capable of withstanding users’ ever-increasing resource-based requirements and demands.
In 2013, the French government launched the very high-speed France broadband initiative, the goal of which was to cover the entire country in high-speed networks by 2022, i.e. to provide high-speed Internet access to all homes, companies and administrations.
In rural areas, local authorities took charge of this deployment by creating the Public Initiative Network (PIN).
A specialist in passive components for Data and Telecom networks, FOLAN has a wide range of products for deploying FTTH networks through 3 packages, each corresponding to a specific part of the Shared Optical Local Loop (SOLL): Central Office, Distribution and Connection.
The UT-King Central Office offer has all of the products needed to equip the optical connection node (OCN), which is the operator’s high-speed network concentration point, where the active equipment is installed. The FOLAN Central Office package includes a wide range of terminal equipment (patch panels), as well as the optical distribution frames required for developing optical connection nodes, the converging location for all of the lines belonging to subscribers in the same district or town.
Distribution offer
The UT-King Distribution offer comprises the transport and optical distribution network. It groups together equipment used to distribute the fiber-optic network from the Optical Connection Node (OCN) to the Optical Connection Point (OCP), via the Optical Sub-Distributor (OSD). While the OSD is a flexibility point integrated into the residential area, to be shared by operators, the OCP is the node located closest to homes and from which the final connection operations are carried out. Depending on constraints and the population density of the area, distribution can be either overhead or underground.
Last Mile offer
The FT-KingL ast Mile package contains all of the equipment that links the Optical Connection Point (OCP) to the Optical Telecommunication Outlet (OTO) installed in the subscriber’s home. Depending on the density of the geographic area, the OCP is installed in boxes on each floor in risers or on walls, in civil engineering rooms or on poles.
